Weaving together magical realism, frame narrative, stream of consciousness, epistolary narrative, and postmodern experimental writing techniques, 'The Ocean is Her Title' explores the nuances of mental health through the metaphor of the 'ocean'.

In the novella, the protagonist Poulomi writes letters to a mysterious character called Jay, whose identity is not clearly revealed until the very end of the book. Poulomi is trapped in an ocean kingdom and rescued through her father's efforts, with the father-daughter relationship being an important aspect of the novella.

'The Ocean is Her Title' is a fictional memoir taking the reader on an adventurous journey through diverse landscapes ranging from the ocean and winter wonderland to a 'Maroon High School' and the streets of Delhi.

The intersection of individual growth, personal narrative formation and philosophical reflections is a pervasive element in the book.
